One year ago I shared my credit rebuilding journey and first credit card approval in forever.

Here is an update:

5 months ago I was able to get approved for an auto loan at a non-predatory rate.

A couple months ago I was approved for the Chase Business Ink Unlimited card.

The next month I was approved for an AMEX Gold Business card.
This month I was approved for an Amazon Prime Visa Chase card.

So I closed my Self card and credit builder accounts as well as my Extra card and account.

And now I am DONE for a while.

Just want to add a data point regarding the American Express Optima program. After I paid in full for a $7000 delinquent card that they had charged off in like 2008 I received my Optima card in July 2022. Used it responsibly this whole time. Starting 1 year ago I tried pre-qualifying for real AMEX credit cards and failed time after time. I was nervous that AMEX blacklisted me even though I paid what I owed them in full. In June 2024 I prequalified for the AMEX Business Gold with a generous SUB so I accepted. The Optima card is paid in full and no you dont have to close it when you get a new AMEX and you dont have to close it before you apply for a new AMEX. Good luck to all my fellow Optima adventurers!
