Head to a corrupted world and you’ll eventually find Harmonic Camps that have long been abandoned by someone or something--perhaps because they were raided by Corrupted Sentinels.

Their loss is your gain. These abandoned encampments are full of rewards for star-hopping Travelers, including the new Sentinel Multi-Tool and the location of a crashed Sentinel Interceptor. You’re definitely going to want to find a Harmonic Camp as soon as possible, and here’s how you do it.

Corrupted Planets

No Man's Sky: Where To Find Abandoned Encampments (1)

To find a Harmonic Camp, you’ll first need to find a Corrupted Planet. These planets have Corrupted Sentinels roaming around on them as well as mysterious purple crystals littering their surface.

To find a Corrupted Planet, go to the Galaxy Map and look for star systems labeled as "Dissonant."

You’ll need a Conflict Scanner to see these Dissonant Systems.

After you find a Dissonant System, warp there and scan the planets until you find one that has "Corrupted Sentinels" listed in the planet’s description. This will be where the planet would normally say "moderate” or "hostile Sentinels."

You can also find Corrupted Planets by using the new Dreadnought AI Fragment item. You obtain the Dreadnought AI Fragment by defeating a Sentinel Dreadnought that warps in once you’ve reached the maximum wanted level while fighting the Sentinels.

Beware, Sentinel Dreadnoughts are tough nuts to crack. Make sure you’ve got a fully upgraded S-class ship and maybe even a full squadron of friends backing you up.

Once you’ve located a Corrupted Planet, head there to begin your search.

Finding A Harmonic Camp

No Man's Sky: Where To Find Abandoned Encampments (2)

There are a few ways to find a Harmonic Camp. First, you could always just fly around until you spot one, but that could take a while. A faster and surer method is to fight some Corrupted Sentinels until one drops an Echo Locator.

Echo Locators appear to randomly drop from any Corrupted Sentinel. Once you attack a Corrupted Sentinel, it’ll summon reinforcements. That’s your cue to blow up these Sentinels en masse. It might take a while, but one will eventually drop an Echo Locator.

Once you have an Echo Locator, use it, and it will direct you to a Harmonic Camp.

A third option is to get the coordinates for a Harmonic Camp from other players. The locations of these camps are fixed, so once discovered, they can be shared with the wider community. That’s how people are sharing their finds on the No Man’s Sky Coordinate Exchange subreddit. Look for posts discussing Sentinel Multi-Tools for coordinates to Harmonic Camps.

Harmonic Camps have quite a few rewards just lying around for Travelers to pick up. They range from Nanites and Pugneum to expansion slots for your exosuit or Multi-Tool. But the biggest reward awaiting Travelers at Harmonic Camps is the new Sentinel Multi-Tool.

To get the Sentinel Multi-Tool, approach the Harmonic Interface, which is the main terminal in the abandoned encampment. You'll be told that a "harmonic lockdown" is in effect, but this can be overridden by inputting the correct override glyphs.

To get the override glyphs, select the "scan memory registers" option. This will bring up a screen with three simple mathematical equations that will tell you which glyphs to input.

No Man's Sky: Where To Find Abandoned Encampments (4)

Solve the equations to get three numbers--these will correspond with the numbered glyphs that need to be input on the prior screen. Going from left to right, the top-numbered glyph needs to be input first, then the middle, and then the bottom.

For example, you might get a series of equations that reads:

  • REGISTER 0xASDFJ3AS == 6-2
  • REGISTER 0x12SDF324 == 15-5
  • REGISTER 0xGLW12344 == 19-10

The answers are 4, 10, and 9. These are the glyphs that will need to be input to override the lockdown.

Once the lockdown has been removed, you can deactivate the Multi-Tool seal and head to the nearby Multi-Tool terminal to grab your Sentinel Multi-Tool.

Your new Sentinel Multo-Tool will need to be repaired, which will require harvesting resources found only on the Corrupted Planet.

How To Find A Crashed Sentinel Interceptor

A new Multi-Tool isn’t the only thing that awaits you at the Harmonic Camp. Once the Harmonic Terminal’s lockdown is lifted, you can also ask it for the coordinates of a crashed Sentinel Interceptor. Just select "Locate Dissonance Spikes" to receive coordinates to a nearby crashed Sentinel Interceptor.

Of course, there’s a whole process to get that crashed Interceptor off the ground, but we’ve got a guide to get you flying in your own former Sentinel Ship here.
