The entire company at Wefunder is traveling coast-to-coast on the Amtrak to spotlight founders who can restore our faith in America77% of VC dollars go to three states today (California, New York and Massachusetts). But we believe that the democratization of angel investing can fix that. These are the cities we have left:— Glacier (July 9th)— Grand Forks (July 12th)— Minneapolis (July 13th)— Milwaukee (July 14th)— Chicago (July 15th)— Toledo (July 17th)— Cleveland (July 17th) — Pittsburgh (July 18th)— Philadelphia (July 19th)— New York (July 20th)— Washington, DC (July 21st)If you know any founders in these cities, who are interested in the idea of letting their customers and community invest in their startup, as well as rich people and VCs, then we would love to meet them while we're in town. Feel free to tag them in the comments below, and we'll reach out to connect.Wefunder.com/train

This sounds incredible! Roanoke, VA is the other end of the Boston coastal line and our vibrant downtown is solely local businesses, with so many more in the greater area! If you have time to spare and are willing to hop on another train from DC, it’s a great place to explore. Roanoke Regional Partnership Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce

Wefunder’s Best Week Ever?At our San Francisco office- we set a goal of making it the best week ever.Everyday each member of our team planned out 1-2 personal or professional activities for the entire week.We planned a team dinner at Dolores Park, going to the Exploratorium, playing catch at lunch, and so much more. In a professional win- beehiiv launched on Wefunder to raise a $1M allocation as an extension to the $33M Series B they announced this week We also had over 150 companies successfully close their campaigns this April! So HUGE kudos to our closing and support teams So while the last few weeks in April have been very busy at Wefunder, we’ve been able to accomplish a lot as a team.Huge thanks to Haley Rosenberg and Suzanna Rush for planning the ‘best week ever’ for everyone!

Last night’s talk with Jared Heyman and Saroop Bharwani had some great insights:— My favorite quote, “Big companies are good at a lot of things, but they are not good at innovating” — Founders should focus on their ‘zone of genius’ and on creating innovation. — Enjoy the challenges in your journey Thanks to everyone who came out last night to the Wefunder office

The theme of the past few weeks: changeWhy? Over the past two weeks, I packed up my life and moved from London to San FranciscoHas it been difficult? YES. Meeting so many new people and moving over 5,000 miles is so stressful!!!!Is it worth it? After only one week of living in the Bay Area, I can 100% say it's been worth the stress. In the past week, I've met some amazing people and been supported by the amazing team at Wefunder. I am BEYOND happy to be working with founders every day and having the opportunity to support them in raising capital from their communities. Embracing change is easier when you are supported by amazing people with shared passions. So thank you to everyone at Wefunder who has made this transition a bit easier by checking in on me and being brilliant and what you do!

Why Norwegians are some of the most productive workers in the world. Before moving back to the US, I’ve decided to visit Bergen once again. During my walk this morning, I was reminded of how Norwegians covet balance and making time for themselves.I believe Norwegians are some of the most productive workers from their focus. There is a culture of fully focusing on your work at hand and making time in the day to ground yourself and have breaks. While not everyone has access to beautiful hikes and nature for their breaks, it is so important to try to unplug (ironic I’m saying this on a social media site, I know).Founders sometimes have the hardest time building strong boundaries and making time to relax. However, if you are NOT taking time for yourself, your quality of work WILL decrease.So. This is your reminder to take some Norwegian wisdom and go on a walk and set time to fully unplug and relax. You need it.
