We happen to be a long, drawn-out soap opera purist think "Young and Restless," "All Children," "Days of Our Lives." We also enjoy the faster-paced shows like "As the World Turns" and "Bold and Beautiful," however. The numbers are up for these shows and the storytelling is good. The only problem is that with so little time to tell stories, the texture is often ripped from the heart of a story line. Of course, the slow motion of "Passions" can be maddening, but that show has helped pump up NBC's daytime ratings.
